About Therapy

We’ve all heard the saying “life’s up and downs”, it’s what makes us human, but sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by situations which result in a negative impact on our lives. If you are affected by any of the following then together we can begin to address these issues and begin the healing process.

  • Abuse
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Work-related stress
  • Family issues

We are all products of our upbringing, not just from our home life but also from the communities we were brought up in and wider society in general. All these factors influence who we are today and I am interested in the way that our minds are shaped from an early age and how that affects us throughout our lives. This can be particularly relevant if you have suffered trauma such as physical and emotional abuse. However not all difficulties in life are as a result of abuse, sometimes we have just ‘learned’ to be anxious or fearful and we can’t understand why that is. Counselling is about sharing concerns in your life that perhaps make you feel stuck and confused about what to do next. Together we will explore your life experiences, relationships and feelings about yourself that cause you distress and then we will work on addressing these issues to enable the more positive, ‘real you’ to emerge. This all takes place in a safe and confidential space and you can be reassured that you will be listened to and not judged in any way whatsoever.
